The Problem
Buzzer, a sports media startup, faced the challenge of expanding their user base and establishing their platform as a must-have for fans. With competition mounting in the sports streaming space, Buzzer needed influential partners who could authentically communicate their brand story. However, as a young company, they lacked connections to recruit recognizable strategic investors.
The Idea
To address this growth challenge, Buzzer approached us to leverage our connections with celebrity athletes, team owners, and entertainers. Our idea was to secure partnerships with influential strategic investors who could participate in a marketing campaign telling the Buzzer brand story in their own voice.
What We Did
To execute our idea, we embarked on a comprehensive five-month campaign that involved working closely with Buzzer's CEO and our dedicated team. We began by identifying prospects who aligned with Buzzer's brand values and had a strong interest in the sports and entertainment industry.
Leveraging our exclusive relationships, we successfully recruited strategic investors including LaMelo Ball, Sabrina Ionescu, Arike Ogunbowale, and DeAndre Hopkins to create a web series titled "At The Buzzer". We conducted long-form interviews with each partner focused on conveying Buzzer's brand pillars through their personal sports stories.
We managed the entire production process, from initial partnership outreach to developing campaign creative to producing compelling video content for distribution across Buzzer's digital channels.
Simultaneously, we secured press coverage of the partnerships and content, achieving 100+ media hits including ESPN, Bleacher Report, and USA Today.
Results
Our strategic approach and diligent execution led to remarkable results for Buzzer. Through our efforts, we successfully secured Series A investments from renowned figures such as Michael Jordan, J.Cole, Patrick Mahomes, Wayne Gretzky, Kevin Durant, and other top athletes and celebrities. This not only provided Buzzer with the necessary capital to pursue its expansion plans but also established valuable partnerships with influential individuals.
